THE SHANNON 38 HPS (HIGH POWER SAILER)

The new Shannon 38 HPS (High Power Sailer) is not a traditional motorsailer, but a bold departure from conventional sailboats. The 38 HPS combines all the patented Shoalsailer features like sailing to windward in 36 inches of water with the powering speed of 12 knots made possible by SRD Technology. In addition, there is an inside, out of the weather, helm station as well as an outside cockpit helm for fair weather sailing to make getting there more enjoyable. The 38 HPS also offers a choice of twin 75hp engines or a single 165 hp engine and bow thrusters. Like all Shannons since 1975, the interior is 100% custom designed for each owner to suit their specific cruising requirements. There is also a choice of an extended fiberglass hardtop or a roll-up bimimi for cockpit comfort. Also, Walt Schulz designed a totally new rig for the 38 HPS that makes the ease of single-handed sailing in any weather conditions a true reality.

What makes the Shannon 38 HPS so unique?

Extremely fast: Comfortable 7 knots speeds under sail or 12 knots under power from the proven Shannon 21st Century patented hull form.

Upwind sailing performance: Sails at a fast 7 knots at a 35-40 degree angle into the wind in just 15 knots of wind. Not a motorsailer that can only sail down wind but a fun and fast sport boat.

Shoal draft: Drawing only 3' all the time (no centerboard!) the 38 HPS can go anywhere.

Single or twin engines: 165 hp single or twin 75 hp diesel engines with speed to 12 kts.

Aft cockpit: Large comfortable cockpit with 360 degree visibility and twin helms.
